I loved doing this painting, and it helped pass many hours while being snowed-in for a few days. The colors are beautiful and the tiny details really make this image pop! The brushes that were included were perfect for the tiny details, and worked better than the "professional" set of brushes that can be purchased. I had some issues with the acrylic paints. 2 colors were completely dried out, and I had to recreate them from my own supply of paints. The included paints are glossy and mine are matte, so the painting looks a little awkward when in direct light. ALL the other paints were incredibly thick with a tacky glue-like consistency. They would not evenly cover the rough canvas, and it was difficult to spread into the tiny detailed areas. I began noticing tiny pinpoint spots of white where the paint would not settle into the grooves of the canvas. I had to meticulously dilute all the paints with water (drop by drop) to achieve a more desireable, spreadable consistency. The paint issues seem consistent across multiple sets. I recently started the "Tree of Souls," and I'm having the exact same problem. I also got the "Midnight Castle," and those paints look like they have that same thick consistency. Having prior experience with acrylic paints helped me to navigate this problem, but newcomers might find this frustrating. Thinner paint or a smoother canvas would be helpful.
